July 1, 2008 (Newnan, GA) — For years, The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce has hosted an annual Bowling Adventure for members and non-members throughout Coweta County. But this year, the Chamber is kicking it up a notch. The “Grand Adventure” event will spark something new: glow-in-the-dark mini golf. It’s all part of the Grand Adventure’s overall “Jungle Madness” theme, in which competing teams and individual are encouraged to dress in costume and “monkey around” for a good cause.
“We just opened our new Glow Golf attraction in June and there’s nothing like it anywhere around,” said Robin Harrington, general manager at Junction Lanes, which is proud to serve as facilities sponsor for the afternoon’s event. “It’s 18 holes of miniature golf on steroids, with two different 9-hole themes, one of which is the jungle and the other a trip across America. It’s a great way for us to add a new twist to an already popular occasion.”
The event takes place on August 22 at Junction Lanes. Registration begins at 1:30 pm, bowling and mini-golf begin at 2:00 pm, and the awards presentation begins at 5:00 pm along with the Chamber’s “Business After Hours” networking event.
Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed team (in jungle or safari attire), the best-decorated lane and the best combined score. In addition, individuals can compete in the Crazy Bowl and Out-Med “Deal or no Deal” contests to win prizes.
The Chamber also offers special deals on advertising opportunities, including year-long banner ads, lane sweeps and combo packages, starting as low as $100.
“This will definitely be a high-energy crowd, so it makes perfect sense for Coweta-Fayette EMC to be the title sponsor,” said Michael Whiteside, president and CEO of the utility. “We think the Chamber adds great value to our community and we encourage anyone and everyone to join the fun. It’s a great way to meet other people who share your passion for making Coweta a great place to live.”
Registration information is available from the Chamber at 770-253-2270, or info@newnancowetachamber.org. Cost for Chamber members is $200 per team through July 31st and $300 thereafter. Non-member teams are welcome at $300 and $400, respectively.
