Citizen of the Year Nominations Now Being Accepted

Do you know an individual with outstanding leadership and citizenship within our community, who has demonstrated exemplary vision, civic pride, and a strong commitment to a better Coweta? Contact the Chamber to get a 2008 Citizen of the Year Nomination Form to recognize that special individual. The nominee should live in Coweta County and his/her activities should be centered in Coweta County and the surrounding area. Recognition will be given for leadership and performance in multiple areas of community service over a period of years. It may be an individual from any walk of life, and there are no requirements or restrictions relating to gender, age, race, religion, or ethnic background. New Location for 2008 Citizen of the Year Banquet

The 2008 Citizen of the Year Banquet will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the Coweta County Fairgrounds on Pine Road. This year’s event is being hosted by the Newnan Kiwanis Club and will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through the Chamber of Commerce; Willie Boyd at 770-251-7658; Bobby Welch, Rutledge Center, at belch(at)numail.org; and Mary Ann Christiansen, Coweta County Kiwanis Club President at Marybenm(at)aol.com. All Checks should be payable to the Newnan Kiwanis Club. Nominations are still being accepted through Friday, December 14, 2007.
