Sponsored by AT&T, the May 20th Legislative Roundtable provides members highlights of the 2008 Georgia General Assembly Session from Coweta’s three-member legislative delegation. Joining us will be State Senator Mitch Seabaugh, State Representative Lynn Smith, and State Representative Billy Horne. The Legislative Roundtable Series gives members more opportunities to interact with their state and national legislators. Each of these sessions takes place at Noon at the Chamber. In August, Senator Johnny Isakson has been invited to update members on important national issues. Make your reservations early since seating is limited.

Senator Mitch Seabaugh
Senate District 28
Mitchell W. Seabaugh, a Republican, was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2000. His Republican colleagues elected him the Majority Whip in only his second term. He chairs the Senate Finance Committee and serves as Secretary of the Rules Committee and the Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Judiciary, Regulated Industries and Utilities, and Transportation Committees.
Representative Lynn Smith
House District 70
Elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1997, Representative Lynn Smith currently serves as the chairman of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee. Her extensive involvement in authoring the 2003-2004 Georgia Water Management Plan and service on the Statewide Water Study Committee worked to support her appointment. In earlier sessions, she successfully sought for changes to the Environmental Protection Act concerning air quality. Chairman Smith is also serving on the State Planning and Community Affairs, Appropriations, and the Government Affairs Committees.
Representative Billy Horne
House District 71
In Janaury 2007, Billy began his second term representing District 71 in the Georgia House of Representatives. District 71 encompasses the nrothern and eastern portions of Coweta County including the municipalities of Senoia, Haralson, Turin, Sharpsburg, Palmetto, and Moreland. He serves on the House Public Safety, Industrial Relations and Economic Development and Tourism committees.
