Transportation

Coweta County is fortunate to have an outstanding transportation system.  Whether road, rail or air, Coweta County's unique location is a tremendous benefit for business and industry.

Highway Access

Interstate: I-85 bisects Coweta County and includes 5 interchanges.  A new interchange at Poplar Road is in the planning stages.
US Highways: US29 and US27A
Georgia Highways: 16, 34, 54, 70 and 154

Rail Access 

CSX & Norfolk Southern serves office parks and industries throughout Coweta County. Piggyback service, pickup and reciprocal switching are all available.

Airport Access

 Newnan-Coweta Airport

Located about five miles south of the city of Newnan on U.S. Highway 29, the Newnan-Coweta Airport boosts a 5,500 foot lighted asphalt runway with 36 T-Hangars and 11 corporate hangars. The Newnan-Coweta County Airport is equipped with a localizer and a precision GPS approaches which allows for operations during inclement weather conditions.

Today, the Newnan-Coweta Airport has 50,000 operations annually and an additional 30 T-Hangars were completed in 2005. Corporate owned jets, military aircraft, and recreational aircraft make up the 130 jet and piston type aircraft that reside at the Newnan-Coweta Airport.

The Newnan-Coweta Airport is an official Avis Car Rental location with cars available on site. The Airport's Pilots' Lounge is complete with two snooze rooms and a full bath. Other facilities at the Airport are the snack and refreshment area and the weather planning area. Wireless Internet access is also available. The Airport offers both full serve and self serve fuel. Maintenance programs and land leases through the Newnan-Coweta County Airport Authority, T-Hangars are also available.
