SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting - Keep Newnan Beautiful
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Earth day\, Keep Newnan Beautiful wanted to create a project that would highlight the issue of recycling\, and incorporate\, support the local schools efforts to teach environmental education. Environmental education is a huge part of the Keep Newnan Beautiful program along with encouraging and supporting proper recycling. In an effort to "marry" the two activities\, two of our commission members created this art installation program. The idea was to partner schools and businesses to fund and create opportunities for environmental education. The businesses that participated with this project provided funding to create an environmental scholarship program. The schools that participated in constructing flowers for a planter\, will have the opportunity to apply for these scholarships to be used for Environmental Education in their schools or classrooms.
