    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Coordinates and implements company safety programs for all construction projects
    • Communicates safety philosophies and values of the company with team members, site foreman, superintendents, and project managers to ensure understanding, compliance and acceptance of the Company’s safety programs and policies
    • Acts as a resource to help field and office staff interpret company, owner, and government policies and recommendations
    • Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites and crews to ensure compliance with state, federal, and company laws, regulations, and procedures
    • Conducts safety audits by identifying, documenting, and recommending abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions
    • Conducts new hire safety orientations
    • Oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance with the help of Human Resources
    • Monitors the implementation subcontractors’ safety programs while working for the company
    • Attends project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant project-related meetings to discuss safety-related matters
    • Supports field leadership in the implementation of company safety program specifics, such as on-site meetings, toolbox talks, and related activities
    • Implements accident and incident reporting protocols to ensure that the project team submits information and reports through the proper channels in a timely manner
    • Conducts and assists in the investigation of field-related accidents
    • Works with field and office supervisors to determine root cause and discuss recommendations for changes in the work processes to eliminate recurrence
    • Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure that the worker attends treatment and is returned to work at some capacity in a timely manner
    • Compiles progress summary reports of injuries for company review
    • Compiles accident statistics, trending analysis, and recommend changes or additions to the safety program to address identified trends
    • May develop and implement training strategies and processes to support training objectives
    • May develop effective training methods such as digital learning, classroom, skill qualifications, and on-the-job training
    • May assist with identifying and implementing technologies to enhance effective learning experiences
    • May monitor company safety metrics and identify areas for training improvement and intervention


    • Minimum 3-5 years of construction safety experience - safety management experience preferred but not required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or relatable degree preferred but not required
    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of industry standards, processes, materials, and equipment
    • Strong leadership, management, communication, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
    • Capable of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships
    • Ability to document, log, track, and utilize the company’s safety management software
    • Ability to work over-time as/if needed
    • Ability for out-of-town travel and working overnight as necessary

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to work within congested areas, tight spaces, and around heavy equipment and machinery
    • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climates
    • Ability to work while wearing safety glasses, safety vest, steel toed boots, hard hat, etc.
    • Able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch or stoop, climb ladders, bend at the waist, squat, and crawl in tight or confined spaces
