• Chamber Ambassadors


     

  • Are you looking for a way to get more involved with the Chamber and stand out amongst the crowd? If you want to expand your personal and professional network, enjoy meeting new people and have a sincere desire to represent the Chamber then the Ambassador Committee would be a great fit for you!

    Ambassador Commitments:

    • Attend monthly meetings (Held 1st Tuesday of every month; excludes May and July)
    • Assist Chamber staff at monthly events (Coffee Calls, Business-After-Hours, luncheons, ribbon cuttings, etc.)
    • Provide three new members “Buddies” with concierge level customer service (email reminders about upcoming events, answer questions related to Chamber business, etc.)
    • Be a member in good standing with the Chamber

     

    Ambassador Benefits:

    • A Chamber name badge identifying your name, company/organization and status as an Ambassador
    • A blue embroidered Ambassador polo shirt so that you can easily be identified at Chamber events
    • Each Ambassador event attended earns points for the Ambassador of the Month designation. As an AOM, you receive promotion through the Chamber’s emails, social media posts, website, monthly meetings, etc. Each AOM receives a certificate and promotion of their designation includes information about the company and/or organization.
    • Free and discounted registrations for Chamber events and more!

    Dorothea Schurr

  • Dorothea works in the insurance industry with WoodmenLife. She recently received the Sure Start Trophy award from WoodmenLife. A native of Danbury, CT, Dorothea has lived in four countries and speaks five languages. She studied languages in Stuttgart, Germany, and has three degrees in translation for German, English, and Spanish. Prior to receiving her health and life insurance license, Dorothea worked in international sales and management for 25 years. She enjoys sewing in her spare time. 

    She encourages other Chamber members to also get involved with the Ambassador Committee. “It’s a win-win. You will achieve a positive attitude in your daily life and work as a team built on mutual respect and good communication.”

  • A native of Newnan, Parker has worked in the hotel/hospitality management industry for the past 4 years. He is currently the Director of Sales at the Newnan Hampton Inn, and, in his free time, enjoys wood working and selling his handcrafted tables and shelves. 


    Parker thinks being a part of the Ambassador Committee has changed his thinking about his job and community involvement. “It’s a great way to get close to others so you can learn the ’dos and don’ts’ of business and help teach others things as well.”

  • A native of Newnan, Gina earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business. She is currently the Business Development Manager with Four Points Construction, Inc.. A few of Gina’s favorite things are the Georgia Bulldogs, the color yellow, the movie Steel Magnolias, watching football, and working in her yard.

     

    Gina became an Ambassador because she likes to help people and appreciates the value of Chamber membership. “I would like to help new members make connections and become plugged into our great Chamber. I would also like to engage inactive members to help them get involved. Our Chamber membership works best when we are invested and active!”

  • Kristina has worked in the banking industry for 29 years and is currently with Fidelity Bank. A native of beautiful Niagara Falls, NY, she has called Coweta County home for 10 years. She is a Georgia Tech fan and ioves watching reality TV shows.

     

    Kristina thinks the Ambassador program is a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people and become more involved with the Coweta community. "Being an Ambassador has already changed how I network with other business owners. It is a good way to make new friends and grow your business.”

    Mel Kendrick

  • A native of Newnan, Mel is the director of marketing for ValueMax Car Rental. She graduated from Clark University with degrees in early childhood education, sociology, and psychology. She has long been involved with community events in Coweta County, including chairing the very first Coweta Relay For Life. You may be surprised to learn that Mel enjoys shooting pool, playing horseshoes, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. 

    Mel encourages other Chamber members to get involved with the Ambassador program “to learn more about the Chamber and how it can assist in opening doors to prosperity. It is the perfect way to meet people and expand your business.”

    Tim Smith

  • Tim Smith is a man of many talents. He is an author, public speaker, Commander of American Legion Post 57, and owner of Moto-Tec-it.com and Pearls of Life. His company Moto-Tec-it.com was selected as a finalist for the 2018 Small Business of the Year Awards. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Tim worked in the dentistry field for 28 years. Although he's lived many places, this UGA fan has called Coweta home for the past 26 years. 

    Tim enjoys his time with the Ambassador program. "The exposure to the community is phenomenal. Being an Ambassador pushes you be intentional which transfers to all your networking and business interactions."

    Kim Beasinger

  • A native of Detroit, Michigan, Kim has called Coweta County home for the past 13 years. She is a marketing representative for Sharpsburg-based Champion Cleaning Systems, a disaster restoration company. Prior to that, she worked in education and retail and studied fashion merchandising. Staying true to her Michigander roots, Kim cheers for the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions. She also loves to sing.

    Kim encourages her friends and fellow Chamber members to get involved with the Ambassador program. "It's a great way to get to know your Chamber. It helps you meet many of the people, organizations, and businesses that belong to it."

  • Zack Holt is the Director of Engineering for Piedmont Newnan Hospital and is also our August Ambassador of the Month! As an ambassador, Zack has earned points by attending Chamber luncheons and breakfasts, Business-After-Hours, ribbon cuttings, and volunteering at events. As part of the “face” of the Chamber, Zack hopes to support community businesses with opportunities and develop a rich professional connection with business partners and community events. He is originally from Stockbridge in Henry County, and has lived in Coweta County for seven years and worked here for nine years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from National Louis University, and he currently works in healthcare construction, engineering and safety. Zack loves the Caribbean and loves to travel, although he acknowledges that “work sometimes gets in the way!” On game day, you’ll find him rooting for the Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs.
