  • Quality Manager / Chief Inspector

    A full-time opportunity is available for a Quality Manager / Chief Inspector responsible for managing quality activities within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment.

    This role oversees quality processes and inspections to ensure aircraft components, repairs, and production processes meet applicable FAA regulations, customer specifications, engineering requirements, and established quality standards. The position also supports accurate inspection records, maintenance documentation, and return-to-service paperwork.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform receiving inspections of parts, materials, and components.
    • Conduct in-process and final inspections.
    • Review work orders, travelers, process plans, and inspection documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 requirements and applicable procedures.
    • Identify, document, and disposition nonconforming materials and products.
    • Investigate quality issues and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
    • Perform internal quality audits, FAA inspections, and customer audits.
    • Verify required inspection points are completed prior to release.
    • Issue Return-to-Service documentation and authorized release paperwork, when applicable.
    • Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
    • Provide quality and technical support to production personnel.
    • Monitor production activities for workmanship and process compliance.
    • Assist with Quality Management System and Repair Station Manual documentation.
    • Stay current with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and industry practices.
    • Recommend improvements to inspection processes and quality procedures.
    • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation quality, inspection, manufacturing, or maintenance.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and technical documents.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
    • Experience inspecting aircraft interior components.
    • Knowledge of aircraft painting, refinishing, hydrographic decorating, composite repair, or interior refurbishment.
    • Experience with quality management systems and internal auditing.
    • Familiarity with FAA/EASA guidelines.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
    • Ability to climb ladders and work around production equipment when necessary.
    • Ability to distinguish colors, finishes, and cosmetic defects.
    • Manual dexterity required for measuring and inspecting components.
