Register now to join us at our State of the Community drive-in luncheon and learn more about criminal justice and public safety in Coweta County. This unique drive-in lunch-time offering (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED) will feature a diverse array of panelists including:
James Yarbrough, Chief Deputy, Coweta County Sheriff’s Office
Buster Meadows, Police Chief, Newnan Police Department
Russell Shoemake, Community Paramedic for Coweta Cares
Joseph Wyant, Judge, Coweta County and Heard County Juvenile Courts
Hank Arnold, Coweta FORCE
Via our Equality of Opportunity committee as part of the Advancing Coweta Economic Recovery task force, the Chamber seeks to develop and advance data-driven business and policy solutions to bridge opportunity gaps and ensure that Black Americans and people of color have greater opportunities to succeed in Coweta County.
One of four segments of our agenda outlines ways in which the Black community is most affected by inequities in the criminal justice system, as well as solutions that may be implemented by the private sector in addressing the same.
The movement to end mass incarceration and police violence is gaining steam. Communities are calling for a smaller justice system that is no longer the primary response to many social issues, from behavioral health disorders to homelessness to school discipline. How can the business community respond to the calls for change? What role does the private sector play in advancing equality of opportunity?
Join us to hear what our panelists have to say, enjoy the program from the comfort of your car via audio streaming to your radio, and enjoy a delicious boxed lunch from Honey Baked Ham!
